The Miler team from Summerville Country Club won the Charleston Area Men’s Interclub Golf Association match played on its home course, scoring 25 points. Wescott finished second with 21 points and Shadowmoss was third with 9 points.
Miler’s Bob Sidekas was the top individual with 12 points, while Herb Whetsell of Charleston Municipal was second with 11 and Ray Dennis of RiverTowne third with 9.
Pine Forest and Coosaw Creek both have 49.5 points for the year, followed by Shadowmoss, 46; Wescott, 41.5; Charleston National, 37; Miler, 37; Crowfield, 36.5; RiverTowne, 34; Dunes West, 33.5; Charleston Municipal, 33; Legend Oakss, 27.5; Stono Ferry, 24; and Berkeley, 16.
The Charleston Men’s City Amateur golf championship will be played May 15-17 at Municipal Golf Course. The entry fee is $150 and the entry deadline is 5 p.m. May 10.
The Charleston Women’s City Amateur will be played May 21-23 at Municipal Golf Course. The entry fee is $90 for regulars (three-day event) and $75 for seniors (two-day tournament).
Both events are open to residents of Charleston, Berkeley or Dorchester counties. Male entrants must be at least 18 as of May 17, 2013, while female entrants must be at least 18 as of May 21, 2013. Senior contestants in the Women’s City Am must be at least 60 years old as of May 21, 2013.
