Flooding has cleared in downtown Charleston and affected roads are again passable, Charleston Police reported.
The flooding occurred as result of heavy rains.
The Market area between Meeting and East Bay streets and the Washington Street area near the rear of the Harris-Teeter were impassable, said police spokesman Charles Francis.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 p.m., the National Weather Service reported.
