Driggers to retire from Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office
One of the top commanders at the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is retiring Friday.
Maj. Ricky Driggers is stepping down for unspecified medical reasons, sheriff’s spokesman Dan Moon said. He declined to say more.
Driggers has been responsible for the day-to-day operations of the sheriff’s office.
He began his law enforcement career in March 1981 as a patrolman with Goose Creek police and joined the sheriff’s office two years later. In 2004, he was promoted to operations major.
