Bernard Groseclose, former CEO of the S.C. State Ports Authority, is among a list of candidates vying to become the Jacksonville Port Authority’s top executive, according to a news report.

Groseclose, who served as head of SPA between 1996 and 2009, is among the national search to fill the CEO position for the Florida port, according to The Florida Times-Union.

The publication said there are eight candidates vying for the post.

The Florida port’s former CEO Paul Anderson resigned in December to take the top executive seat at the Tampa Port Authority.

Groseclose resigned from the SPA in January 2009 during a performance evaluation at a board meeting. He still lives in the Charleston area.
