A three-vehicle wreck Wednesday night resulted in the death of two Walterboro men on a Dorchester County road.
A 1992 Honda Accord swerved into oncoming traffic on U.S. Highway 17A, striking a 2013 Kia and forcing that vehicle to crash into a 1999 Toyota Forerunner about 10 p.m., the S.C. Highway Patrol said.
The Honda’s driver and passenger were killed in the wreck, according to the Highway Patrol.
Dorchester County Coroner Christopher Nisbet identified the vehicle’s driver as Sheldwin Jvon George, 41, of David Street, and the passenger as Steven Tyrone Donaldson, 45, of Springwood Drive.
George received head and cervical spine fractures, among other injuries, Nisbet said.
Donaldson received head and chest trauma, he said.
Neither was wearing a seat belt, according to Highway Patrol. They were killed instantly, Nisbet said.
The Kia’s driver, William Singleton, 71, and a passenger in the Toyota were taken to Medical University Hospital for treatment, the Highway Patrol said.
The Toyota’s driver, Jerry Ward, 38, was not hospitalized, the patrol said.
The wreck is still under investigation.
