The World War II aircraft carrier Yorktown will turn 70 years old on April 15.
As a special promotion by Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum, anyone with a valid identification card showing a birthday on April 15 will be admitted free on April 14 and April 15.
The special offer applies to day admission only and will not be valid for the USO show on the evening of April 14. The tourist attraction has lined up a full day of educational programs, special tours and musical performances for Sunday, April 14.
“The USS Yorktown is more than just a Lowcountry landmark,” Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette said. “She’s a national treasure. We hope everyone will join us on April 14 to celebrate her 70 years of service to our country.”
