Charleston police said they arrested a Mount Pleasant man about 1 a.m. today while he was burglarizing the Kangaroo convenience store at 901 Island Park Drive on Daniel Island.
Grayson Carr Worley, 26, of Mathis Ferry Road, is charged with second-degree burglary. Worley was being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center, public information officer Charles Francis said.
Officers were on patrol in the area when they heard an alarm at the business, Francis said. The officers arrived at the business and found the front door had been pried open, he said.
Upon entering the business, the officers saw the suspect approaching the cash register, Francis said. The suspect was taken into custody without incident, he said.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
