The South Carolina Stingrays received defenseman Ryan Grimshaw and forward Alden Hirschfeld from the American Hockey League.
Grimshaw was assigned to the team from the Toronto Marlies, while Hirschfeld returned from the Providence Bruins.
Both are expected to be in the lineup for Game 1 Friday night in Duluth, Ga., against the Gladiators.
Grimshaw, 23, played in 16 games with the Marlies, recording one assist. Acquired by the Stingrays in a trade with the Trenton Titans on March 7, the Rochester, New York, native recorded six points (three goals, three assists) in 23 games with the ECHL’s Titans Titans earlier this season. Currently in his first full professional season, Grimshaw attended Harvard University for four seasons totaling 26 points (four goals, 22 assists) in 121 contests.
Meanwhile, Hirschfeld, 25, split his time between Providence in the AHL and the Stingrays. He had four goals and four assists in 35 games for the Bruins, and had four goals and four assists in 18 games for the Stingrays.
