Two search warrants netted eight arrests on drug and gun charges in North Charleston on Tuesday.
Police responded to 2551 Midland Park Road, lot 32, concerning an ongoing drug investigation, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.
Officers conducted a search of the home and found 3.7 grams of cocaine base, items used to weigh and package illegal drugs and a 9mm High Point pistol with an obliterated serial number, Pryor said.
Seven people were at the home, but all denied ownership of the drugs and the gun, Pryor said.
As a result, police arrested Adriana Lucas, 20, Melik Bibbs, 17, Fredrick Bibbs Jr., 20, Chandrika Whaley, 25, Sheri Sullivan, 33, Fredrick Bibbs, 39, and Soni Wells, 24, Pryor said. Each was charged with possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and held at the Charleston County jail, he said.
Officers on Tuesday also searched an apartment at 7131 Stall Road.
In that search, police confiscated 12.7 grams of cocaine base, items used to weigh and package the drugs and three pistols.
Police charged 21-year-old Akeim Fredericks with trafficking cocaine base, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, Pryor said. Fredericks was also held at the Charleston County jail, he said.
