Charleston police release photos after laptop stolen from Francis Marion Hotel

Charleston police want to talk to this man about a laptop that was stolen from a room in the Francis Marion Hotel Sunday.

Charleston police want to talk to a man seen in a video after a laptop was stolen from a room in a downtown hotel Sunday.

A woman told police she left her Dell laptop and bag in her room at the Francis Marion Hotel while she went out for a couple hours Sunday afternoon. She said she left about 4:30 p.m. and returned about 6:30 p.m. to find the bag still there but the laptop missing.

Hotel staff found no sign of forced entry, according to the incident report.

Police released photos today of a man captured on video and want to talk to him about the theft.

Anyone who can identify the man is asked to call Charleston police at 577-7434.
