An ex-football player, former stay-at-home Mom and the owner of a retired race dog are among Coldwell Banker’s passel of new Realtors.

•Sales model opens at new East Cooper neighborhood•

In its first completed home for house hunters to tour, a newer builder in the Charleston area is evoking the name of an Atlantic island spectacle.

The model dwelling from FrontDoor Communities is the two-story Bermuda. It is in Tributary at RiverTowne Country Club in Mount Pleasant. Carolina One New Homes is handling sales and marketing in the village off S.C. Highway 41.

“For the discriminating buyer, the Bermuda is a 2,433 square foot, four bedroom home that features an open living room and dining area as well as a large, friendly front porch,” the marketing group says.

•Carnes Crossroads real estate team being assembled•

A broker, associate and manager will be the core group to market a sprawling new village getting underway in Berkeley County.

The team is with Carnes Crossroads Real Estate — “responsible for all new home sales within the Daniel Island Co.’s emerging Carnes Crossroads community in Goose Creek,” the company says.

Initial staff on the sales and administrative team are Chuck Buck, broker-in-charge; Terri Hartig, sales associate; and Cheryl Waker, office manager. They will be housed at the newly opened Carnes Crossroads Information Center at 513 Wodin Place in Goose Creek.

According to Daniel Island Co., the first single-family homes are under construction within the 2,300-acre master planned community.

Buck, who is also director of sales for Carnes Crossroads Real Estate, is a 23-year veteran of the residential sales and construction industry. He has background in sales, marketing and operations for national home builders, including Beazer, Centex and Ryland homes.

As vice president of sales for Beazer Homes, he managed sales for 15 communities in Charleston, Columbia and Savannah.

Buck was named Sales Representative of the Year in the Charleston area for the 1997 Prism Awards and was National Sales Manager of the Year at Beazer in 2005.

“Chuck is a natural for this role,” says Matt Sloan, president of the Daniel Island Co., noting that he is a top sales performer with extensive management experience within the home building industry.

Hartig is a “seasoned sales professional” with 10 years experience in the new home industry, according to Daniel Island Co. She was formerly a top sales performer for the Charleston division of Beazer Homes and “possesses a strong work ethic that has helped her earn awards for sales and customer service.”

Waker, meanwhile, previously spent 10 years as the office manager at the Daniel Island Co.’s corporate offices on Daniel Island. •New York company to hold auction of Hilton Head Island house•

A South Carolina oceanside townhouse originally offered for $3.3 million will be put up for bid Friday, March 8.

Concierge Auctions is handling the proceedings. The New York City-based auction house says it has been retained to sell the private oceanfront retreat on Hilton Head Island. The gated property, located at 120 South Shore Drive, is in the exclusive Leamington community at Palmetto Dunes.

According to the auction company, the property will sell to the highest bidder regardless of price in cooperation with Robbie Bunting of Hilton Head Properties. The company says that luxury real estate auctions are becoming more commonplace “as high-end sellers search for alternatives to the unpredictable traditional sales route.”
