March 2: The Mullet Haul Trail Run, 5- and 10-mile Race. Mullet Hall Equestrian Center on Johns Island, 10 a.m. Both the 5- and 10-mile races begin at 10 a.m. Following the races, awards will be presented and participants may take part in a post-race party featuring live music and beverages. Online registration is open through March 1. Late registration and packet pickup will be available on race day from 8-9:30 a.m. Fees to participate in the 5-mile run portion of the event are $34 or $28 for residents of Charleston County. March 16: Palmetto Pump & USA Climbing Competition at James Island County Park. 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Witness a competition of strength, balance and endurance from some of the region’s best climbers at the Palmetto Pump & USA Climbing Competition. March 2-April 20: Team Charleston Recreational Club at James Island County Park. 9-11 a.m. The Club Team is designed to introduce newcomers to the sport of climbing. They’ll learn to belay and climb through fun and interesting games and activities. Age: 7-17. Fee: $138/$125 CCR Discount. Pre-registration required.
