Cristina A. Bumgartner and Linghui Chen have joined Mount Pleasant-based Hood & Selander CPAs LLC as staff accountants. Bumgartner has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of Charleston. Chen has a master’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina.
Consulting
Tom Walker, Randall Taylor Lee and Vicki Nault have joined Charleston-based Knowledge Capital Group.
Walker is director of nonprofit services. Previously, he was chief financial officer for The Citadel Foundation. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Appalachian State University.
Lee is senior consultant and medical services practice lead, Previously, he was vice president of business development for Independent Healthcare Pharmacy Network Inc. He has a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and a master’s degree in business administration from Mason School of Business at The College of William & Mary.
Nault is project coordinator. Previously, she was an electronic medical record software trainer for the Medical University of South Carolina. She has a bachelor’s degree in finance from San Diego State University.
Education
Niki DeWeese Leiva has joined Trident Academy in Mount Pleasant as director of admissions and marketing. Previously, she was director of information and recruitment for the graduate school at the College of Charleston. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in public administration from the College of Charleston.
Event venue
Mary Hydrick has joined Marion’s In The French Quarter as director of sales and marketing for the downtown Charleston special events venue. Previously, she worked in the event planning industry in Asheville, N.C.
Health care
Dr. Ronald J. McVicar has joined Charleston Ear, Nose & Throat Associates as a physician. Previously, he was staff otolaryngologist at Naval Health Clinic Charleston, and has held similar positions with the Navy in Newport, R.I., and Groton, Conn. He is board-certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. He has a bachelor’s degree in biology from California State Univer- sity and a doctorate from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific at Pomona.
Law
Steven D. Dyer has joined Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough’s Charleston office in an of-counsel capacity. He represents captive insurance companies in their formation and other corporate matters and also represents traditional insurance companies in corporate and regulatory matters. He has more than 20 years of experience. He has a bachelor’s degree from McDaniel College and a law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Stephanie Yarbrough has joined has joined Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice’s Charleston office as an attorney. Her practice focuses on economic development. She also has experience in corporate and securities, as well as capital markets. Previously, she was with Nexsen Pruet LLC. She has a bachelor’s degree from the College of Charleston and a law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law.
Real estate
Mac Triplett has joined East West Partners as director of sales for Tides condominium development in Mount Pleasant. He has more 30 years of experience in luxury real estate sales, marketing and development. Most recently, he was in sales at the Cliff’s Communities in western North Carolina.
Tina Jones has joined Ryland Homes as a new-home sales counselor based in Brickhope Plantation in Goose Creek. She has more than 16 years of new-home sales experience. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
Restaurant
Bob Cook has been promoted to chef de cuisine at Hospitality Management Group Inc.’s Cypress restaurant in downtown Charleston. He has been with Cypress since 2007.
