There are definite benefits living close to work: For instance, it isn’t a hassle traveling to and from your place of employment.

Whether or not that’s of key interest, a condominium for lease in The Park at Rivers Edge could be a fitting place to live — and potentially involve a short trip to and from the office.

The 1,000-square-foot condo is at 7955 Edgebrook Circle #C in the gated community off Dorchester Road. It is available now with “at least a year’s lease,” says Therese Miner, property manager of Oak Trust Property Management, who is handling the rental. The rent is $850 a month.

Miner says the “freshly painted” first-level condo is in a good location. Situated near the border of Charleston and Dorchester counties, the condo is close to Charleston Air Force as well as practically in walking distance to another major employer, the Bosch auto parts plant, she says.

Meanwhile, The Park at Rivers Edge provides an amenities center with swimming pool, playground and surrounding green space.

The condo, which is not fully furnished, showcases two bedrooms and two bathrooms including a suite with sleeping area and adjacent bath. A washer and dryer is included in the rent. Bedrooms are carpeted, while the baths and kitchen sport laminate flooring. The cooking center displays a four-burner stove, refrigerator and cabinets. Centering the condo is a combination dining-living room complete with wood-burning fireplace.

A small pet, 14 pounds or less, is permitted for $250, she says.

Another perk: “There’s a patio at one end and screened-in porch at the other end,” Miner says, noting that sliding glass doors open to each.

The condo is on the northern side of the neighborhood. Heading northwest, take Interstate 26 to exit 209B, which is Ashley Phosphate Road. Make a left on Ashley Phosphate and follow it to Dorchester Road. Turn left on Dorchester. Less than two miles ahead, make a right on Park Gate Drive. Once inside The Park at Rivers Edge, turn right onto Edgebrook Circle. Ahead is 7955 Edgebrook Circle #C.
