Charleston's first students to integrate city schools gather to commemorate 50th anniversary of desegregation
These students were among the first 12 to integrate Charleston’s all-white schools in 1963. Three of those pictured, Millicent Brown, Clarice Hines-Lewis and Oveta Glover, spoke at the College of Charleston on Thursday as part of an event commemorating the 50th anniversary of school desegregation.
