A man was airlifted to the Medical University Hospital tonight after he was shot three times at a Colleton County nightclub, authorities said.

The shooting happened shortly before 9 p.m. at the Chase Lounge on Proctor and Rivers streets, just outside of Walterboro. It’s the second shooting at the club this year — two people were shot Jan. 30 — and at least the the third since a deadly shooting Sept. 6.

A source at the scene said the male victim appeared to be in his 50s.

A Colleton County Sheriff’s spokesman said deputies are investigating.

Check back as more details become available.

Anyone with information about tonight’s shooting is asked to call the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 549-2211.
