Clemson 12, William & Mary 2
Steve Wilkerson had two hits and four RBIs, and Scott Firth allowed just one run over seven innings to lead host Clemson (2-1) to a 12-2 win, and series win, over William & Mary (1-2) on Sunday.
After scoring just four combined runs in the first two games of the series, Clemson erupted for 15 hits on Sunday. Thomas Brittle and Garrett Boulware also had two hits.
Clemson trailed 1-0 entering the bottom of the sixth, but scored 12 runs over the next three innings.
Firth was used as a relief ace last season for the Tigers, but he made a case to remain as a starter.
He allowed just two hits, one run and one walk over seven innings.
Firth struck out five.
Clemson had just one home run — Shane Kennedy’s two-run shot Friday — in its opening series.
