Florida credit union plans expansion into Charleston, other S.C. cities
A Florida-based credit union is looking to expand into South Carolina, starting from the Midlands.
Grow Financial Federal Credit Union said today it plans to open two branches in Columbia this year and a third in 2014. It also wants to add locations in Charleston and Greenville.
The credit union’s goal is to open 15 offices throughout the state. It recently hired a vice president of operations and a dealer relationship representative for South Carolina to kick off the expansion.
“We want to be present to serve not only individual members, but also businesses, while helping the state be proactive in their business development growth objectives,” Grow Financial executive Jason Moss said in a written statement.
The Tampa-based credit union has 19 branches and $1.8 billion in assets. It was founded in 1955 to serve the military and civilian personnel of MacDill Air Force Base.
