Deputies: Woman arrested after stabbing boyfriend with screwdriver
Charleston County deputies on Sunday arrested a woman who they say stabbed her boyfriend with a screwdriver in a domestic dispute.
Kimberlin Kone, 45, of West Madison Avenue was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature in connection with the incident.
On Jan. 28, deputies arrived at Kone’s home following reports of a stabbing that happened there, an incident report states.
A man told police that he and his girlfriend, Kone, lived together off and on for about three years.
The couple argued that night about his plans to move out. The argument turned physical when Kone grabbed a Phillips Head screwdriver and stabbed her boyfriend in the leg, the report states.
The man told deputies he did not want Kone to go to jail, and was uncooperative with them.
His mother called deputies to report the incident. Kone was no longer at the residence when they arrived, the report states.
Deputies called Kone’s cell phone in attempts to find her. She told them she was at Medical University Hospital, then hung up the phone.
Deputies searched several hospitals, but found no one matching Kone’s description, the report states.
She was arrested Sunday and held at the Charleston County jail.
A judge on Monday moved to release Kone on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.
