South Carolina Stingrays forward Tyler McNeely was named ECHL player of the week for Jan. 21-27.
McNeely, 25, scored four goals and six assists for 10 points and was a plus-4 in three games.
College of Charleston was picked to finish third in the Southern Conference in a poll by the league’s coaches.
The Cougars got 50 points, trailing Chattanooga (58) and Georgia Southern (63).
Senior pitcher Stephanie Saylors, junior shortstop Lizzy Vaughn and junior third baseman Kelsey Hodgson were named preseason first-team All-SoCon selections. Sophomore Hope Klicker was named to the second team, both as a pitcher and utility player.
The season starts Feb. 13 when the Cougars host Charleston Southern in a doubleheader at Patriots Point.
