A Dillon County man faces a reckless homicide charge in connection with a crash on Interstate 526 that killed a motorist Monday.
Arnold Bradford Williams, 35, of Williamsburg Court in Latta was arrested after the noontime wreck in the eastbound lanes at Rivers Avenue.
Citing a history of traffic tickets, Magistrate Linda Lombard set Williams’ bail at $100,000 during a hearing this afternoon.
Witnesses said a tractor-trailer was approaching traffic that was stopped for an earlier crash about 2 miles down the road. The truck braked and skidded into a silver 2005 Acura, which was demolished.
Four other vehicles were damaged in the wreck. Two other people were hurt.
The motorist was named in an arrest affidavit as Lauren Baccari.
It was the second fatal wreck in 24 hours on eastbound I-526 that resulted in a felony charge.
Lisa Pistolis, 25, of Hanahan was arrested Sunday afternoon after the police said she was drunk when her Ford Mustang collided with a Jeep near Dorchester Road.
Serjei Cahuantzi, 35, of Charleston died after the Jeep rolled and ejected him. His passenger was hurt.
