Marshalls will join Harris Teeter in the new Corners of Wescott shopping center in North Charleston.
Phase 1 of the $70 million project is under way on the 22-acre site at Dorchester Road and Wescott Boulevard.
The 167,000-square-foot shopping center is 80 percent preleased and should be completed by the summer, according to Cohen Real Estate, a Manhattan-based commercial real estate services firm.
The firm arranged a joint venture partnership for the project.
North American Development Group, a national owner and manager with more than 14 million square feet of shopping centers in its portfolio, provided the new equity investment for the project, which is being developed by Atlanta-based Hendon Properties.
Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. is adding catering service. The Denver-based chain says its catering service will be available in Colorado starting today and will roll out to all of its markets in coming months.
Chipotle already has been selling mix-and-match “burritos by the box” for smaller catering orders. But the catering service is designed to feed 20 to 200 people, with each person able to customize their meals, much as they would at the restaurant.
Chipotle has a location at 7398 Rivers Ave., near Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston. A proposed Mount Pleasant restaurant never materialized.
