Charleston County deputies have located a woman who went missing after her vehicle was found wrecked in Awendaw Wednesday night.

Deputies made contact with Carolyn Blocker, 45, late this morning, sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said.

About 11 p.m., deputies found a black Chrysler 300M wrecked in a ditch at 1735 Guerrin’s Bridge Road off of Highway 17, Brady said.

Deputies found alcohol in the vehicle, as well as a cell phone with a call made about 9:45 p.m., Brady said. Blocker, of Pinckney Park Drive in Charleston, was believed to be the driver, Brady said.

A woman matching Blocker’s description and an unknown man were seen getting out of the vehicle and appeared uninjured, according to deputies.

A passerby told deputies that both people asked for a ride to the Halfway Creek Road area.

A white pickup truck appeared to pick up the two people, Brady said.

Blocker’s family told deputies she was headed to Santee, and that she may have been in that area about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

A check of area hospitals, a helicopter search, and K-9 units failed to locate Blocker, Brady said.

Brady did not say how deputies located Blocker or what condition she was in. He said only that deputies continue to investigate the incident.
