ATLANTA ó A field goal as time expired clinched a 25-24 Clemson win over LSU in the Chick-fil-A Bowl Monday night.
Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd completed a 12-yard TD pass to DeAndre Hopkins to cut LSUís lead to 24-22.
A two-point conversion attempt failed, leaving Clemson within two points with less than three minutes left.
Clemson kicked a 26-yard field goal to cut LSUís lead to 24-16 in the fourth quarter.
An Andre Ellington fumble led to an LSU field goal, giving the Tigers a 24-13 lead over Clemson after three quarters.
It was all LSU in the third quarter. LSUís Jeremy Hill ran 57 yards for a TD at the beginning of the second half to give the Tigers a 21-13 lead.
Clemson was a missed extra point away from being tied with LSU at the half. Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd had completed 20 of 27 passes for 177 yards. Heís rushed for a TD and thrown a TD.
Clemson receiver DeAndre Hopkins has seven catches for 103 yards and a touchdown.
Clemson overcome a disastrous start that saw star receiver Sammy Watkins lose a fumble and suffer an ankle injury on the same play. X-rays were negative on Watkinsí ankle but he will not return to the game. Clemson starting right tackle Gifford Timothy (knee) is also questionable to return.
