CLEMSON — Clemson men’s basketball forward and former Pinewood Prep star Milton Jennings has been suspended by the team following an arrest for possession of marijuana early Wednesday morning.

It is the third time Jennings, Clemson’s leading scorer (10.8 points per game) has been suspended by the team in the last 13 months.

Clemson police officers arrived at a campus-area apartment after a complaint that a fire detector had been removed, and discovered “an odor of marijuana” coming from an apartment unit.

Jennings was in the apartment and admitted he had smoked marijuana. Officers found .5 grams of marijuana, according to the police report, and charged Jennings with simple possession of the drug.

Jennings did not play against Purdue Wednesday night in the ACC-Big Ten challenge.

Jennings also was suspended last December for a verbal confrontation with coach Brad Brownell during a game and last January for an academic-related violation of team rules.
