It was a Saturday morning when my life changed. I was taking a shower, and a little voice told me to do a self-breast exam, and, of course, you can figure out the rest of the story.
I called my doctor, and on June 14, 2012, I was told I have breast cancer. Since then, Iíve had two lumps removed. They were able to get clean margins; lymph nodes were negative but Iím stage 2 cancer.
It all sounds cut and dried, but I was flooded with emotions and questions, so many I couldnít think straight.
Not knowing if I was making right or wrong decisions. I felt like I was in a dark hole. But today I have a peace and comfort about me. Iíve had two chemo treatments, two more to go and then radiation.
Being told you have cancer ... no words can explain how you feel. But as for me today, I feel blessed, and Iím learning ďone day at a time.Ē
