West Virginia walks off with series finale
Power 5, RiverDogs 4
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Jose Osuna capped a three-hit night by lining a walk-off single into right in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the West Virginia Power a 5-4 victory over the Charleston RiverDogs in South Atlantic League action at Appalachian Power Park on Wednesday night.
Charleston fell to 63-62 (24-34 in the second half). West Virginia took two out of three in the series and improved to 56-73 (33-26 in the second half).
The Power started their game-winning rally with a pair of leadoff singles against new pitcher John Brebbia (3-1). A bunt moved both runners up and an intentional walk loaded the bases, bringing up Osuna (3-4, RBI, 2 runs), whose base hit finished the game.
