PGA traffic to Kiawah reaching tournament level
This isn’t your practice round traffic.
Maybank Highway and Betsy Kerrison Parkway are seeing moderate traffic delays as folks turn out en masse for Day One of the PGA Championship.
The delays begin at Maybank Highway at the Stono Bridge leading from James to Johns Island and continue on and off to Main Road.
Bohicket Road is moving well but the traffic backs up again somewhat near Fresh Field Farms and the traffic circle at Kiawah’s entrance.
A trip from downtown to the Ocean Course, which took an hour earlier in the week, is now taking close to 90 minutes.
