Two people were shot in North Charleston Tuesday morning while traveling on Insterstate 26.

The shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. near the Remount Road exit, North Charleston Police spokesman Spencer Pryor said.

A man told police he was driving westbound on I-26 when a dark grey Chevrolet Impala with a spoiler pulled up beside him.

A man with long dreadlocks leaned out the passenger-side window and fired at least two shots then sped away, the man said.

Two people were hit in the shooting and were transported to the Medical University of South Carolina with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting may have been sparked by an argument the victims had with another group of people at Club Pulse, at Cross County and Dorchester roads, last night, the man told police.

Anyone with information in the shooting is asked to call the North Charleston Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
