Interstate 26 carjacking, shooting victim identified; suspect’s bond hearing today

The woman who was kidnapped, killed and dumped along an interstate exit ramp Friday night was Luh Endang Susiani, 31, of Indonesia, Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said Sunday.

An autopsy showed she died of a gunshot wound to the head, he said.

Tyler A. Brown-Kelly, 28, of Boyd Brown Road in St. George is charged with murder. A bond hearing is set for 8 a.m. today.

Brown-Kelly is accused of holding up a couple at gunpoint Friday night and demanding their Toyota Camry.

Police said he forced Susiani into the car, drove off, then shot her and dumped her body off I-26 at Jedburg Road.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and did not release any new information Sunday.

According to information released Saturday, North Charleston police were dispatched to 5633-G Dorchester Road shortly before midnight Friday to check out a reported carjacking.

Dorchester County deputies later tracked down the car at a St. George nightclub, spotted Brown-Kelly running and arrested him. Susiani’s body was found at 2:55 a.m. Saturday.

North Charleston police also have charged Brown-Kelly with kidnapping, carjacking, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and attempted armed robbery.
