Man shot ex-girlfriend then called 911, North Charleston police say
A man shot his girlfriend and then called 911 threatening to kill himself at a North Charleston home Sunday afternoon.
North Charleston police responded to 2611 Ferrara Dr. about 2 p.m. and met with the victim’s son, who told officers that his mom’s ex-boyfriend shot her, spokesman Spencer Pryor said.
Dispatchers on the phone with the suspect told officers the man was still in the home with a handgun.
Officers saw the suspect with a small, black handgun to his head and ordered him to put the gun down. The man did so without further incident, Pryor said.
The victim was taken to the Medical University Hospital. Her condition has not been released.
Police charged Elder Wilson, 44, with attempted murder, Pryor said.
