Old Village tour
What: Enjoy an opportunity to explore 10 homes and gardens in the Old Village of Mount Pleasant. Food tastings prepared by local chefs will be offered in tour kitchens and on outside patios. Artists will showcase their works for sale under tents in Edwards Park. Proceeds will benefit the Red Cross.

When: 1-5 p.m. April 22

Monday Azalea Society
What: Sidney Frazier, vice president of horticulture at Middleton Gardens, will discuss general care of azaleas at the monthly meeting of The Rev. John Drayton Chapter of the Azalea Society of America at the Carriage House of Magnolia Gardens.

Tuesday Awards luncheon
What: The Council of Garden Clubs of Greater Charleston is holding its Spring Awards Luncheon. There will be a plant/seed/cuttings exchange before the meeting. Some of the garden clubs will have tables to sell crafts and gardening items. Awards will be presented to clubs in recognition of their accomplishments. Lunch will be served.

When: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 24

Thursday Garden Tours
What: The Heyward-Washington garden is of a formal design that became popular with the building of the Palace of Versailles in 1661. All plants in the garden were introduced to the Lowcountry no later than 1791; many were imported from Europe. Visitors will see camellia, tea olive, boxwood, althea, yellow begonia, roses, herbs and more.

When: 4-4:30 p.m. April 26

Rose Society Rose Show

Sunday, April 29 Butterfly Fling
What: Celebrate the planting of a butterfly garden at the Marsh View Trail. In addition, commemorate the paperback release of local author Mary Alice Monroe’s “The Butterfly’s Daughter” including a book signing. Learn how to attract butterflies to your own yard and explore the new garden during this family-friendly event. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
