Most Cooper River Bridge runners can’t brag that they maintained a thick mane of sun-kissed hair and a winning smile while in the midst of the 10K race.

But, then again, most runners aren’t the Ridiculously Photogenic Guy.

MUSC system analyst Will King took a perfectly timed photo of what he thought was just a face in a crowd of runners — bib number B5917. Around lunchtime Tuesday, King realized how attractive that face was and uploaded it with roughly 100 other photos to Flickr.

“One of my friends commented on the picture and said something along the lines of ‘I dub this guy Mr. Ridiculously Photogenic.’

“I thought it was a pretty cool comment, so I posted it on Reddit. For some reason it just took off from there,” King said.

The image of the then-unidentified man with the James Franco look quickly became an Internet sensation, drawing more than 1.25 million hits on the photo-sharing site by Wednesday afternoon. That’s not even including the numerous views and comments on Reddit and other popular sites, such as Facebook.

The Ridiculously Photogenic Guy is actually 25-year-old New Yorker Zeddie Little, rugged and now the focus of all these prying eyes. Not much else is known about him, but there are lots of questions, like whether he’s single. Oh yes, there is one fact, he ran a time of 47:16, so he’s athletic.

Jessica Crouch, King’s friend who came up with the photo’s catchy title, said Little’s movie-star good looks remind her of actor Ryan Gosling.

“Everybody was running and he was just smiling at the camera. He wasn’t struggling or anything. It’s unusual. His hair was perfect and he had the perfect smile. It just struck me as being really out of place,” Crouch said.

Crouch isn’t wrong. Browse photos from past Cooper River Bridge Runs and you’re likely to spot thousands of people gasping for air, grimacing from the sweat dripping in their eyes or pleading for dear life while in the midst of a leg cramp. Most couldn’t claim Liam Hemsworth styling in a sweat-drenched T-shirt.

At those moments runners are thankful they’ll blend into the rest of the crowd. Little, however, wasn’t so lucky. Just check out quickmeme.com to see what people are saying. “I just hope the guy’s OK with this Internet fame.

It’s got to be pretty shocking when all this attention is randomly thrown at you,” Crouch said.
